The Second Day of Grinchmas

On the second day of Grinchmas, the Grinches want to see... Two-Faced Bloggers... And the Portsmouth Times in bankruptcy. Much like the hapless former vice-presidential candidate, John Kerry (who told us he was "for" the Iraq War, before he was "against it"), the CAVE People Bloggers are often for certain people, before they are against them. And vice versa. Here just two of the people they have flip-flopped on: 1. Kevin Johnson, the newly elected First Ward Councilman and former Gay Rights Activist, is a member in good standing with the CAVE People, who endorsed him against his supposedly corrupt opponent.

But here's what the CAVE people were saying about him just over a year ago:

  • "...helping the city’s corrupt politicians."
  • "sold out."
  • "up to his neck in the lies and petitions being circulated to fool the public..."
  • "Johnson is part of the crew of underhanded types, in and out of government..."
  • "[Kevin Johnson's] powers of perception about on a par with Mr. Magoo’s."
  • "[He] follows the rules by which the crooked game is played."

Head Grinch Robert Forrey authored these quotes, on his River Vices website, where he also outed Kevin Johnson ("and his partner...Paul Johnson, whose name he has apparently taken") as a homosexual over a year and a half before P-Town Underground even existed. (Forrey, who is also gay, frequently makes snide comments and intimations about the sexuality of those he criticizes, often implying, mockingly, that they are engaged in homosexual acts.)

2. Solicitor Mike Jones. The CAVE People were some of the current City Solicitor's strongest supporters, when he was elected to years ago. Some of them were on his election committee. But since he has not done their bidding, the Grinches have flipped on him as well. He has since become part owner of the Crispie Creme donut shop. That business has apparently become yet another object of their multitudinous boycotts of the CAVE People.
